Globus: Design and quality errors on the shirts

Hi friends,

We visited Globus, Gorwel's - Kandivali, Mumbai again on Dec 11, 2011, Sunday. While i was trying an informal check shirt, there was a marked quality issues with the seemingly similar shirts.

My wife, like many other people, who are obsessed with precision of patterns pointed the design errors in the red and blue check shirts.

We present the pics of size 39 and 40 of the same shirt. These are visibly two different designs.
  • Take a look at collars of two shirts, pattern sequence as well as pocket designs. These become different just by the change in sizes !
  • For both the shirts, the left and the right side patterns are different.
  • The top shirt even as has different colors on flaps of the two front pockets. The blue color on top left of the left pocket does not match with the reddish blue color of the right pocket flap.

The third pic of green check is from my wardrobe. Notice the similarity of pattern on left and right side. Similar pattern is even followed with the pocket.

So, the point is not to prove that my shirt is better. The point is that we pay a remarkably high price to buy great brands and some of them are so in-different to the quality which is really WEIRD !

We are overwhelmed by the hits this blog is getting just after a few Facebook status updates. Thanks to you all for taking time out to read us.

Globus: Two price tags on the same product

Hello guys,

Another interesting case came across when we visited brand new Globus store, opened at Growel's Mall, Kandivali (E), Mumbai on Dec 2, 2011.

Rage Ladies cardigan Zipper has two price tags on opposite sides of the same label.

Both price tags are displaying similar style codes M1801 but one is pricing the product at Rs1505 and the other at Rs1495. We clicked the pics of opposite sides by keeping two garments together.

Well...Some of you may argue that it is just a small inventory labeling error.

So what is the big deal about just Rs10 here and there.

That's why it is just a weird deal and not a big deal.

Thanks a ton for reading our blog and keep returning for more fun filled weird deals.

Lifestyle socks are misprinted downside !

Hi friends,

We purchased a pack of 3 socks for our daughter from Lifestyle store, Phoenix mills, Mumbai.

Sorry, this time i certainly misplaced the bill, else would have provided you the purchase proofs.

The height of weirdness is that the print of the socks are under the feet which are certainly not visible while the upside is plain white.

Well, i used to think that all pieces are quality checked because it is lifestyle store but..

We certainly didn't made a big deal but it was definitely a weird deal.

Papa John's Pizza software bug

Hi friends,

We visited Papa John's Pizza at Kandivali, Mumbai where the bill has a small little bug.

We ordered meal for 3 combo. In general combo meals have discounts compared to MRP on individual items.

We present the bill here and one can see the discounted rate on pizza while some other items like cold drinks do not have any discounts. The respective non discounted original prices are also displayed in column 2.

However, the surprising part is the price of Island Green (Regular) salad, the third item in the bill. The discounted price is more than the MRP.

On asking how it is possible, these guys said that it is coming from the software and kinda company policy.

But how can discounted price be more than the original MRP. Our question remains un-answered under the excuse of company's systems and procedures.

Well some of you might think, what is a big deal for a difference of Rs4.

We are also with you. It's certainly not a big deal but definitely a weird deal.

JLR annual report says Tata motors acquisition price is $2,300 billion

Hi Friends,

JLR ( Jaguar Landrover ) FY11 annual report said that Tata motors acquired JLR for $2,300 billion. ( Annual report can be downloaded from Tata motors website, page 30, para 3rd)

The correct acquistion price is $2.3bn. You are guessing it right that this is a typographical error, so what is the big deal about it.

We are with you. Indeed it is not a big deal, it is a Weird Deal.

Big Bazaar selling 5 STAR chocolate 50% above its MRP

Product : Cadbury's 5 Star Fruit & NUT
Seller : Big Bazaar, Growel Mall, Kandivali East, Mumbai

Packaging : Pack of 3*42g each
Item Code: 300588638
Date of Visit: Nov13, 2011

Hello friends,

Every die-hard chocolate lover like me knows the selling price of his preferred chocolate by heart. A normal 5 STAR Fruit&Nut costs Rs20/unit.

Big Bazaar at Growel's Mall, Kandivali E, Mumbai is selling a pack of three at Rs90 ( 3*42gm) instead of Rs60. This is 50% above the MRP.

Astonished !

We have some proof pics attached with this post and there are ample stocks in the store for anyone to verify.

Cadbury, are you listening !

OK .. OK we understand that it can be a error of a purchase operator. But we thought your processes were well defined.

Whatever is the case, we will not pay a higher price than MRP and poor souls who bought the product and consumed without bothering for Rs30 more should not come across this post.

Buyers better beware next time you buy a cadbury atleast from food bazaar, do double check billing price and MRP.

But thanks for reading this and check out a lot more fun filled pages in the additional posts !
